Liora Schlesinger


Clarinetist & Bass Clarinetist

Clarinetist and bass clarinetist Liora Schlesinger is an avid chamber and orchestral musician whose mission is to connect underperformed works with wider audiences. She is a founding member of Trio Atropos, a clarinet, viola, and piano trio dedicated to exploring repertoire by underrepresented composers. Liora is also a founding member of Delicious Bass, NYC's premiere (and only!) bass clarinet ensemble. 

Schlesinger has played with orchestras including The Village Verein, The Chelsea Symphony, and Protestra. She is the co-principal clarinetist and bass clarinetist of New York University’s Orchestra. She also plays carinet, bass clarinet, and E-flat clarinet with NYU’s Broadway Orchestra.  She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Symphony Space. She has also performed internationally in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Israel. Schlesinger has participated in masterclasses with Charles Neidich, David Krakauer, Yehuda Gilad, and Corrado Giuffredi. 

She can be heard on the soundtrack for Leaving (2020) and Yaretzi (2024), as well as in numerous recordings for NYU's composition department. 

Liora is a dedicated educator and currently serves as an adjunct professor with NYU’s Clarinet faculty, where she teaches private lessons and leads a monthly studio class. She is also on the faculty at Marymount School of New York, University View Academy, and Through The Staff.  Liora is a teaching artist with Third Street Music School's Partners Program,  through which she teaches woodwind and brass group classes at PS 99. Liora maintains a vibrant and growing private studio with students of all ages in NYC.

Liora earned her B.M and M.M at New York University. Her primary teachers include Pavel Vinnitsky, Yoonah Kim, and Christa Van Alstine.
